Lackawanna sweeps Region Doubleheader

Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College baseball team swept its Region XIX Division II doubleheader, clinching a third place seed in the upcoming Region DII Tournament. The Falcons won today's opening game by coming back from a 6-2 deficit in the seventh inning, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning to claim a 7-6 win. In the night cap Lackawanna took an early two run lead in the first inning, which they held the entire contest on their way to a 5-1 win.

In the opener, the Falcons scored their five seventh inning runs on a Kyle Rogers two run home run, a Zach Lopatka sacrifice fly and a walk off two out two run single by Dustin Wilcox.

Elijah Baez earned the win, pitching in relief of Lopatka. He held RCBC scoreless on three hits over two and one third innings.

At the plate, Lackawanna was held to seven hits, with four of them going for extra bases, Roger's home run, a triple by Connor Perry, a double by Mike Villa and a two base hit by Zach Lopatka.
