Myrtle Beach, SC: The Lackawanna College baseball team won both of their Thursday's games, beating Mercyhurst North East 8-6 in the first game and College of Lake County 15-1 in the second contest. The wins give the Falcons a 5-3 win/loss record in games played at the Cal Ripken Experience and 10-4 overall.
In the first game, Elijah Baez was credited with the win after yielding four runs over five innings on five hits. Baez struck out three. Relief pitcher, Ryan Janvier, was credited with a hold after hurling the final innings while relinquishing two runs on two hits and a walk. He struck out one. Lackawanna's leading hitter was Vincent Napolitano. Napolitano drove in three runs with a single and double in three visits to the plate. Two other Falcons also had multiple hit games. D'Quan Matthews had two singles and an RBI in four at bats; while Max Guadalupe single twice in his four plate appearances.
In game two, Grant Powell was winning pitcher, yielding one run and four hits over five innings. Powell struck out three. Jahmoi Percival and Zach Lopatka led the Falcons at the plate. Percival had perfect day of four singles in four at bats with two RBIs. Lopatka drove in four runs with a single, triple and a homer. Dustin Wilcox also contributed a multi-hit game with two singles in three visits to the plate. Wilcox was credited with an RBI.
Lackawanna completes their Cal Ripken Schedule on Friday with games at games against Massasoit Community College and Henry Ford College.
