  • Lackawanna hurler, Jared Solomon, selected by Cincinnati in MLB Draft

    Scranton, PA - The Cincinnati Reds selected Lackawanna College's Jared Solomon in the eleventh round of the 2017 Major League Player Draft. He was the 317th overall pick and was the tenth player in the program history to be selected in this annual event.
  • Lackawanna well represented in Collegiate Baseball Summer Leagues

    The Lackawanna Falcon Baseball team recently finished the 2017 season with a 35-17 record and runner up finish in Region 19. That success has attracted the attention of numerous collegiate baseball league teams seeking quality players for their summer roster. Several players associated with the Lackawanna will be participating across the country in those top leagues.
  • Lakawanna Showcase Rescheduled to Sunday

    Scranton, PA, Due to scheduling conflicts, the Lackawanna College baseball team .has rescheduled its Skills Camp and Showcase from Friday June 8th to Sunday, June 11th. The showcase and camp will be held at Lackawanna Field and will start at 9am. i Lackawanna’s field is located at 401 Jadwin Street, Scranton, Pennsylvania.

    The Lackawanna College Baseball Spring Skills Camp and Showcase, scheduled for Sunday, June 4th at Lackawanna’s Jadwin Street Field, has been postponed due to anticipated day long rain. It will now be held on Friday, June 9th, at the same location.
  • Lackawanna’s Season ends in Region XIX Tournament

    Georgetown, DE – The Lackawanna College baseball team saw their season come to a close in the championship round of the Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament. In today’s game, the Falcons lost to Mercer County Community College by 13-4 score. The defeat eliminated Lackawanna in the double elimination tournament and gave Mercer the 2017 title.
  • Lackawanna upsets Morris in Region XIX Tournament

    Georgetown, DE – Sunday afternoon, the Lackawanna College baseball team upset County College of Morris, 7-5 in ten innings. With the win, Lackawanna moves into the Region XIX Division II Championship round against Mercer County Community College. In order to take the title, the Falcons will have to beat Mercer twice, while Mercer can claim the Championship with one win over Lackawanna. The first game in that round is scheduled for 11 AM tomorrow morning. If a second game is required it will be played immediately after the conclusion of that morning contest.
  • Lackawanna splits on first day of Region Tournament

    Georgetown, DE - Friday, the Lackawanna College baseball team split its first two games of the Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament, losing the morning opener and then claiming a victory in the afternoon elimination game. In the opener, Lackawanna fell by a 6-4 score to Mercer County Community College, before shutting out Rowan College at Burlington County, 8-0. The victory over Burlington moved Lackawanna into another elimination game on Sunday when they play the loser of the Mercer game against County College of Morris. Sunday’s game is scheduled for 2 PM. That game was initially scheduled for Saturday but was moved to Sunday because of expected heavy rains in the Georgetown, Delaware area.

  • Lackawanna Threesome named to All Region Team

    Scranton, PA – Lackawanna College is honored to announce that three members of its 2017 baseball team have been named to the All Region XIX Division II Baseball Team. Connor Perry was selected for the Region's First Team, while Zach Lopatka and Vincent Napolitano were named to the Region's Second Team.

  • Falcons' Game is Cancelled, Reschedules Another Contest to PNC Field

    Scranton, PA – The baseball game between Lackawanna College and Luzerne County Community College, scheduled to be played today at PNC Field, Moosic, Pennsylvania, has been cancelled due to wet field conditions. It will now be played tomorrow at 4:00 PM at Luzerne’s Nanticoke Campus.
  • Connor Perry meets Jack Murray

    Scranton, PA –On Sunday Jack Murray and his father, Joseph Murray, decided to take a walk to the ball park from their home in the North Scranton neighbor adjoining the Falcons’ ballfield. They intended to watch the final innings of Falcons’ second game of the day against Bucks County Community College. It was a good thing that Jack brought his glove because before he knew it he was playing catch with the Falcons’ right fielder Connor Perry. It was the first time the two ball players met and it fast developed into a friendship.
  • Lackawanna finishes weekend play with a split
    March 26, 2017
    Rochester, NY – Sunday afternoon, the Lackawanna College baseball team completed a busy weekend with a doubleheader split with Monroe Community College. The Falcons dropped the opener by a 5-3 score and took the nightcap by outscoring the tribunes, 2-1. With the split, Lackawanna ended three consecutive days of play with a record of four wins and two losses.

    Thursday afternoon the National Junior College Athletic Association named Lackawanna College outfielder, Connor Perry, as its Division II National Player of the Week for week 4 of the 2017 baseball season.

  • Eight Falcon Baseball Players Commit to NCAA Colleges

    When Bruce Thompson took over as the Lackawanna College baseball coach, one of his stated goals was to promote his players so that they continue their baseball careers at four-year institutions. After his first season at the helm, he was especially successful in meeting that goal, as eight of the team's sophomores are signing their National Letters of Intent during the NCAA early signing period to commit to either a NCAA Division I or Division II institution for the 2017-18 academic year.
