Scranton, PA – Led by Wady Tactuk's perfect six for six day, the Lackawanna College baseball team swept Queensborough Community College in a Sunday afternoon, non-conference, doubleheader. The Falcons took the opener by a 13-3 score, and outscored the Tigers in the night-cap, 15-3.
In the opener, Tactuk started his perfect day with four singles, two runs scored and two runs batted in in four at bats. Also having multi-hit games, were Ethan Bowen, with three singles, three runs scored and three runs driven in, in four trips to the plate; Sterling Smith with three singles, two runs scored and a rbi in three plate appearances; Dustin Wilcox, with a base hit, a double, a run scored and a run driven in, in three at bats; and, Carlos Gomez, with a single, three run triple and run scored in three trips to the plate.
Josh Breittholz was credited with win, going five innings, relinquishing three runs on seven hits, while striking out four.
In the night-cap Tactuk continued his perfect day at the plate with two more singles and three runs scored in two official visits to the plate. Ethan Bowen also carried a hot bat into the second game, as he slammed two three run homers in four at bats. Also having notable performances were D'Quan Matthews; with an rbi single, three run double and solo home run in four plate appearances, and Connor Perry, with a base hit and two doubles in three trips to the plate.
Tyler Fisch earned the win in relief, pitching two and one third of scoreless and hitless ball, while striking out five.
The Falcons return to the field on Tuesday when they host Sussex County Community College in a Region XIX Division II twin-bill. The first of Tuesday's games starts at 2:00 PM.
