Falcons lose to Messiah Junior Varsity

Mechanicsburg PA – For the first time since March 16th, the Lackawanna College baseball team lost a game. Thursday afternoon, the Falcons fell to the Messiah College Junior Varsity team by a 14-10 score.

Losing pitcher was Jake Miller. It was his first defeat of the 2016 season. The Falcons' top batters in the slugfest were D'Quan Matthews, Shane Rivenburgh and Ethan Bowen. Matthews singled three times and scored twice in six at bats; Rivenburgh had three base hits, three runs scored and two RBIs in five trips to the plate; and Bowen singled, doubled and drove in a run in six plate appearances.

The Falcons next play this Saturday, when they host the County College of Morris in a Region XIX Division II twin bill. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
