Poughkeepsie, NY – Trailing 7-4 going into the top of the eighth inning, the Lackawanna College baseball rallied for six runs to take a lead which they never relinquished on their way to a 11-9 victory over Dutchess Community College. Key to the Falcons' comeback in the eighth was Carlos Gomez's two run single and an RBI base hit by Alex Varaksa. The Falcons' most productive batters were Zach Lopatka, who went three for five with a solo home run, three runs scored and two runs batted in; and, Gomez, who had two base hits in his four trips to the plate with the two key RBIs he had in the eighth.
PJ Mandarano was credited the win after the Falcons took the lead during the two and two thirds innings in which he pitched. Max Frederick was the starter. He hurled six innings giving up three earned runs, while striking out six.
