Hot Bats lead Falcons to Doubleheader Sweep

Scranton, PA – Sunday afternoon, Eric Grabowski's hot bat led the Lackawanna College baseball team to a doubleheader victory over Cecil College. In the opener the Falcons beat the Seahawks 13-6 as Grabowski went two for three with a single and a two run home run. He also scored twice and drove in three runs. In the night cap Grabowski went four for five with three doubles, three runs scored and 2 RBIs, as Lackawanna took the second game 18-12. In addition to his hitting prowess, he also claimed the game two win, hurling five innings while yielding three runs on four hits while striking out seven.

In addition to Grabowski, four other Falcons had multi-hit games in Lackawanna's thirteen hit attack. Arbely Soto went two for four while driving in three and scoring twice; Rasheed Noble was three for four with two runs scored and a run driven in; Jason Barton singled and doubled in four plate appearances, scoring once and recording three RBIs; and, Maicol Parrilla , singled twice in four at bats with a run scored and RBI.

Anthony Hunter recorded the win, yielding six runs, two of which were unearned, on nine hits. He struck out four.

The Falcons' bats remained hot in the nightcap as they belted out twenty hits in their 18 run effort. In addition to Grabowski, four Lackawanna hitters had at least two hits for the contest. Soto singled, doubled twice and homered; Barton, singled and tripled; Sjagabar Martis tripled and homered; and, Kenny Guichardo singled and doubled. Three other Falcons had extra base hits; Nick Hogan and Rasheed Noble each doubled, while Pat McGinty had a pinch hit solo home run.
