Lackawanna Ranked 8th in NJCAA Pre-Season Poll

After making NJCAA Division II World Series appearances twice in the last three years, the Lackawanna College Baseball team has again gained recognition in the NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll as one of the powerhouse programs in the east. The Poll ranks the Falcons 8thnationally, and 2nd amongst Northeast Junior Colleges; only Mercer County Community College ranked higher as the 4th place team in the national poll.

Always trying to prove themselves against the best, Lackawanna has five of top twenty teams on their regular season schedule. On February 21st & 22nd, the Falcons play at 14th ranked Catawba Valley Community College in a three game series. On February 26 and 28th they play 17th ranked Iowa Central at Millington, Tennessee and on the 27th they play 5th ranked Southeastern Community College. On April 7th, the Falcons travel to play 9th ranked University of Connecticut at Avery Point in a double-header and then play them again on April 19th in a twin-bill at home. Finally on April 22nd , The Lackawanna nine play a conference doubleheader at 4th ranked Mercer County Community College.

The Falcons open their season February 14th at Patrick Henry Community College, Martinsville, Virginia; and their home schedule against Mercyhurst North East on March 25th.

Lackawanna play their home games at their new park located at the corner of Amelia Ave and Jadwin Street in North Scranton.
