    Scranton, PA - The Cincinnati Reds selected Lackawanna College's Jared Solomon in the eleventh round of the 2017 Major League Player Draft. He was the 317th overall pick and was the tenth player in the program history to be selected in this annual event.

  • Samantha Patterson named Head Coach of Lackawanna College’s Women’s Soccer Program

    Scranton, PA - Lackawanna College is honored to announce that it has hired Samantha Patterson as their Head Women’s Soccer Coach for the 2017 season. No stranger to the Lackawanna women’s soccer program, she served as a starting center back on the 2010 and 2011 Lackawanna soccer teams, while captaining the 2011 squad. Both of those teams were the last two squads to qualify for the Region XIX Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament. Patterson will replace Errol Mannick, who stepped down from the head coaching position for certain business opportunities.

    Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College women's basketball team will hold an Elite Camp for high school aged girls with aspirations of playing college basketball. The camp will be 4 hours in length, starting at 10 am on Saturday June 17th, 2017. The event will be held at the Lackawanna College Student Union located at 500 Jefferson Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Registration will be conducted from 9:15 am to 9:45 am.

He is a resident of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania and ran interscholastically for Western Wayne High School.

O?Dell shot a six over par 77; while Bastings, playing in the group behind O?Dell, carded a seven over par 78.

    Scranton, PA: Lackawanna College golfers, Dylan O’Dell of Forest City, Pennsylvania and William Bastings of Christchurch, New Zealand, are on their way to Mesa, Arizona to participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s 2017 Division II Golf Tournament. Both Bastings and O’Dell qualified for the national tourney by finishing third and sixth respectively in the individual standings of the NJCAA District H Tournament held at the Swan Point Yacht and Golf Club in Issue, Maryland.

    Georgetown, DE – The Lackawanna College baseball team saw their season come to a close in the championship round of the Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament. In today’s game, the Falcons lost to Mercer County Community College by 13-4 score. The defeat eliminated Lackawanna in the double elimination tournament and gave Mercer the 2017 title.
  • A Year to Remember

    Sometimes after a setback, one loses sight of what they accomplished. That could be the case after the Lady Falcons fell to Mercyhurst North East in the District K playoffs, it shouldn’t. This year’s team was one of the most successful in Lackawanna’s softball history. It claimed the school’s first Region XIX Division II Softball Championship in 15 years. Not only did they claim the title, the Falcons did so in memorable manner. A fourth place seed in the Region Tournament, Lackawanna beat the number one seed, CC of Morris, twice by 4-3 scores and then shut out the third place seed Mercer County Community College, 2-0.
  • Lackawanna upsets Morris in Region XIX Tournament

    Georgetown, DE – Sunday afternoon, the Lackawanna College baseball team upset County College of Morris, 7-5 in ten innings. With the win, Lackawanna moves into the Region XIX Division II Championship round against Mercer County Community College. In order to take the title, the Falcons will have to beat Mercer twice, while Mercer can claim the Championship with one win over Lackawanna. The first game in that round is scheduled for 11 AM tomorrow morning. If a second game is required it will be played immediately after the conclusion of that morning contest.
  • Lackawanna splits on first day of Region Tournament

    Georgetown, DE - Friday, the Lackawanna College baseball team split its first two games of the Region XIX Division II Baseball Tournament, losing the morning opener and then claiming a victory in the afternoon elimination game. In the opener, Lackawanna fell by a 6-4 score to Mercer County Community College, before shutting out Rowan College at Burlington County, 8-0. The victory over Burlington moved Lackawanna into another elimination game on Sunday when they play the loser of the Mercer game against County College of Morris. Sunday’s game is scheduled for 2 PM. That game was initially scheduled for Saturday but was moved to Sunday because of expected heavy rains in the Georgetown, Delaware area.
  • Lackawanna ends Season with Loss in District K Final

    Jessup, PA – Friday afternoon, the Lackawanna College softball team had their season come to an end with a loss in the final game of the National Junior College Athletic Association's District K playoffs. The Falcons were outscored by Mercyhurst North East 7-3 in the District's championship game.
