• Lackawanna College Athletic Department Announces, “Media Day” for Winter Sport Teams

    Scranton, PA – The Lackawanna College Athletic Department will host its Winter Sports Media Day on Tuesday, October 24th, at 4:00 pm in the Gym at Lackawanna’s Student Union and the Wrestling room which is also located in the same building. Both the men and women’s basketball teams and the wrestling team will be in attendance to take individual pictures, team pictures and do interviews.

    Newton, NJ – The Lackawanna College men’s soccer team suffered a 5-1 loss in their end of season match against Sussex County Community College. With the defeat, the Falcons ended their season with a 4-9-1 win/loss/tie record.

    Lackawanna College’s men’s and women’s cross country team had an extremely busy late fall schedule as they competed on three consecutive weekends and helped in the cleanup of Route 6 in Mayfield in preparation for the “Scranton Marathon” held on October 8th.
  • Vince Rebar is the newest member of the Lackawanna College coaching staff

    Vince Rebar is the newest member of the Lackawanna College coaching staff, joining the staff for the start of the 2017-2018 academic year. Vince Rebar is a 2012 graduate of Holy Cross HS in Dunmore, PA coached by Sandy Menichetti. He began his collegiate baseball career at Division II Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. The following year, he returned to PA to play four years at Marywood University. Each of his first three years, Vince was selected All CSAC infielder and led the team in several categories, including batting average and hits. In 2015 and 2016, he was named team MVP.

    New Rochele, NY – The Lackawanna College Football team shutout Monroe College 19-0 to remain in consideration for an NJCAA bowl invitation. The win helps the Falcons’ bowl resume since Monroe was ranked 15th in the country going into today’s contest.
  • Lackawanna splits Region XIX Tri-Match

    Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Volleyball team split an important Region XIX Division II Tri-Match, losing 3-0 to Harcum College in the opener and winning in the nightcap 3-0 over County College of Morris. The win was important to the Lady Falcon’s in that it ties the Falcons with Morris for the third-place seed in the upcoming Region XIX Division II Volleyball Tournament.
  • Falcons fall in key Region XIX Contest

    Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College men’s soccer team lost a Region XIX Division I match to Rowan College at Burlington County by a 10-1 score. The contest was important to both teams in that the winner was guaranteed the fourth-place seed in the Region XIX DI Men’s Soccer Tournament. The loss eliminates the Falcons from participation in that tourney.

    The Lackawanna College Women's basketball team is having a fundraiser this Sunday, October 15th, from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Chipotle in Dickson City. The Lady Falcons will receive 50% of all sales between those hours which meet the fundraiser’s qualifications. Come get some great food and support the women's basketball team.

    Newtown PA – Tuesday afternoon, The Lackawanna College Tennis team lost a road match to Bucks County Community College by an 8-1 margin. Due to injuries sustained by Lackawanna players prior to the match, five of those eight points were won by Bucks by default.

    Nanticoke, PA ? Sunday, the Lackawanna College Volleyball team swept an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference tri-match by beating Community College of Philadelphia by a 3-1 score and Luzerne County Community College by a 3-0 tally. In the match against CC Philadelphia, Lackawanna won sets one, three and four by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-12; while only losing the second set 25-18. The Falcons then shut out Luzerne winning three sets without a loss by set scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-17.

    Scranton, PA – For the fourth straight game, the Lackawanna College football team scored 40+ points to improve their win/loss record to an unbeaten 4-0. Saturday night, it was a 49-14 win over the Kats of Erie Community College. With that win, the Falcons have averaged 50 points a game while relinquishing and average of 20.5 points.
