With the win, the Falcons improved their overall win/loss record to 11-2, while their Region XIX DII record remains at 7-1.
Cranford, NJ – Thursday evening, the Lackawanna College Women’s Basketball team suffered their first loss of the 2017-18 basketball season. The Lady Falcons lost to Union County College by a score of 74-69. With the defeat, the Lackawanna ladies finished the first half of their season with an overall win/loss record of 12-1 and a Region XIX DII record of 9-1.
Scranton, PA, - Tuesday night, the Lackawanna College Men’s Basketball team improved their Region XIX DII conference win/loss record to 7-1 with a 114-43 win over Essex County College. The Falcons were led by Jonathan Williams, who had a team high 20 points.
Scranton, PA – Tuesday night, the Lackawanna College Women’s Basketball team beat Essex County College 77-38 to improve their Region XIX Division II conference win/loss record to 8-0. The Lady Falcons were led by Mileisha Troche and Quieterriua Gross. Troche had 18 points with 12 coming from the three-point line, while Gross scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Baltimore MD. – This past weekend the Lackawanna College Men’s Basketball team participated in the Ben Williams Basketball Tournament hosted by Baltimore City Community College. The Falcons lost their opener on Saturday losing to Frederick Community College 84-66; before bouncing back on Sunday to claim 3rd place with an 86-85 win over BCCC.
Blackwood, NJ - Saturday afternoon the Lackawanna College wrestling team fell to Camden County College in a dual match hosted by Camden at their Blackwood, New Jersey campus. The Falcons fell by a score of 37-15.
Scranton, PA – Point guard, Ciani Ballard led the Lackawanna College Women’s Basketball team to a 60-59 win over the Falcons’ archrival, Harcum College. Ballard scored 20 points and dished out 8 assists. More importantly she scored Lackawanna’s last 8 points, which inc luded a three-pointer giving the Falcons a 55-53 lead with 3:23 in the game and a two pointer with 0:13 left on the clock to give Lackawanna a 60-57 lead that Harcum could not overcome.
Scranton, PA - This past football season, JaQuan Brisker established himself as one of Lackawanna College’s premiere defensive players. He recorded 54 tackles in nine games, picked off four passes and returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns. His play earned him a selection to the Northeast Football All Conference First Team as a safety; a nomination for the NJCAA All American team; and, the honor of being named Falcons’ “Most Valuable Defensive Player”. Yet who is JaQuann and what inspires him to these accomplishments.

The Lions entered the game as the Region’s top ranked team with a conference win/loss record of 3-0. The Falcons were led by Jonathan Williams who had 27 points and 9 rebounds.
Scranton, PA – Thursday night, Quieterriua Gross and Meleisha Troche led the Lackawanna College Women’s basketball team to a 94-62 victory over Raritan Valley. Gross had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds; while Troche had 20 points scoring 18 of those from the three point line where she connected on 6 of 9 attempts. The Lions entered the game with a 3-1 conference win/loss record and third place in the Region XIX standings. With the win Lackawanna improved their conference record to 7-0.
The Lackawanna College Softball team has released its 2018 schedule as they look to build off their Region XIX Championship in 2017 were they put together an impressive 24-14 record under 7th year Head Coach Jeff Pittsman.
Dallas, PA – Tuesday night, the Lackawanna College Men's Basketball team rebounded from their initial loss of the season with a 93-73 win over the Misericordia University Junior Varsity team. The Falcons were led by Javontay Pipken who scored 20 points and dished out 8 assists.
Head Women’s Soccer Coach Samantha Patterson announced the signing of four soccer players who will be joining the Falcon soccer family for the 2018 season. Coach Patterson is excited to welcome Kara Feruzza, Ashley Duda, Olivia Ortiz and Michaela Shonk.
The Lackawanna College Baseball team, through its third year Head Coach, Bruce Thompson, has released its 2018 schedule. The Falcons look to improve on last season’s 35-17 record and Region XIX Runner up finish in the Region’s Division II Baseball Tournament.
Jenkintown, PA - Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Men's Basketball team suffered their first loss of the 2017-18 basketball season. The Falcons fell to Manor College 81-74. The game was a lot closer than the final score indicates as the Falcons trailed by a single point with 2:48 left in the game.
Jenkintown, PA - Year in, year out, the game between Lackawanna College and Manor College at Manor is always significant because it is tough place to play and the outcome always seems to have an effect on the final standings, either outright or as part of the tie breaker criteria. Hence today's 82-42 win over Manor by Lackawanna has special significance for Lackawanna.
Newark, DE – The Lackawanna College men’s basketball team used double figure scoring and rebounding efforts by Stevan Rodriguez and Jonathan Williams to propel them to a 107-105 double overtime win over Delaware Technical Community College in Stanton. Rodriguez scored 31, grabbed a team high 17 rebounds and blocked 6 shots, while Williams contributed 19 points secured 14 rebounds and led the team in assists with 4.
Newark DE – Tuesday night, the Lackawanna College women’s basketball team used an 18 point scoring performance by freshman Taylor-Rae Styles to lead them to a 96-35 victory over Delaware Technical Community College at Stanton. The win gives the Falcons an early season 8-0 overall win/loss record with five of those wins in conference.
Wednesday night, the Lackawanna College football team conducted its end of the season banquet to celebrate its 2017 accomplishments and to award its players for their efforts in both the classroom and on the playing field.

The win keeps the Falcons unbeaten in early season play with an overall win/loss record of 5-0 and a Region XIX record of 4-0.
Scranton PA – Thirteen proved to be a lucky number for the Lackawanna College women’s basketball team as Taylor-Rae Styles, Quieterriua Gross and Laquanna Nagbe each scored 13 points to lead the Lady Falcons to an 88-41 win over Mercer County Community College. The win improved their overall win/loss record to 7-0 and their Region XIX Division record to 4-0.
Randolph, NJ – Propelled by Stevan Rodriguez’s double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, the Lackawanna College Men’s Basketball team edged County College of Morris, 82-80, to remain unbeaten in the early goings of the 2017-18 season. Rodriguez efforts were aided by Theron Reddy who scored 19 points off the bench.
Randolph, NJ – Tuesday night, the Lackawanna College Women’s Basketball team won their sixth consecutive game since the beginning of the season, by beating County College of Morris, 92-37. The Lady Falcons were led by sophomore Quieterriua Gross, who led all scorers with 18 points.
Bethlehem, PA: This past weekend, the Lackawanna College wrestling team was shutout in the Scotty Wood Duals, an event sponsored by Moravian College, failing to gain a team victory in that event. However, certain Falcon wrestlers did excel in their individual matches.
Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon, Ransford Agyeman and Jonathan Williams propelled the Lackawanna College Men’s Basketball team to an 87-75 win over Rowan College of Burlington College. Agyeman was top scorer for the Falcons with 22 points, while Williams contributed to the victory with 21; which included a three for four day from the three-point line.
Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College Women’s Basketball team improved their conference win/loss record to 2-0 by beating Rowan College at Burlington College 63-42. The Lady Falcons took a 2-0 lead with 8:55 on the clock in the first quarter on two made free throws by Quieterriua Gross. For the remainder of the game, the Falcons were neither tied nor did they relinquish the lead.
