• Lackawanna College Men’s Golf Team to Hold Tryouts

    Lackawanna College Head Men’s Golf Coach Pat Lloyd will be conducting tryouts on Monday, August 28th at 3:30pm at Stonehedge Golf Club open to all male Lackawanna students. The men’s golf team competes in competitive Region XIX and has a strong tradition of developing golfers and placing them at four-year schools. This past season two members on the Lackawanna golf team qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Championship Golf Tournament held at the Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Arizona. All male students are encouraged to attend tryouts; scholarship money is available and this will be a great opportunity to have fun and learn to play golf at a high level.

    Scranton, PA – The Lackawanna College Athletic Department will host its first annual Media Day on Monday, August 21st at Scranton Prep’s Loyola Athletic Complex. The Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams, Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country teams and Women’s tennis team will be in attendance to take individual pictures, team pictures and do interviews.   • Lackawanna Football announces Historical Ranking and First Ever Media Day

    Scranton, PA – Lackawanna College announced today that its football team is ranked #5 in the Pre-Season National Poll released by the National Junior College Athletic. It is the highest pre-season ranking in the history of the program. This comes after a monster 2016 season where the Falcons went 10-1 and had a remarkable 29 players sign to play at the Division I level.

    Lackawanna College has announced the hiring of Gabby Holko as the new Senior Woman Administrator and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Lackawanna College. As Senior Woman Administrator, Holko will be responsible for mentoring, advising and supporting women student athletes along with assisting in the hiring process of women sport coaches. In this role, she will enhance representation of female sports and help create a culture where women athletes can succeed.

    Scranton, PA: The Lackawanna College Falcons signed Erech Noecher to its 2017 inaugural wrestling team. A graduate of Blue Mountain high school, Noecher finished 8th in the PIAA state wrestling tournament in Hershey this past athletic year.

The Lackawanna College softball team made that list tying for 39th place with Daytona State College, East Central College and Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa with a team Grade Point Average of 3.38.

    Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College softball team, the Region XIX Division II Softball Champions, proved that their success was not limited solely to the playing field. They also excelled in the classroom. During the 2016-2017 academic year it placed nine players on the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference All-Academic team and five student athletes on the National Junior College Athletic Association All-Academic Team. In addition the team was nominated for a NJCAA team award after compiling a team average of 3.43.

  • Samantha Patterson named Head Coach of Lackawanna College’s Women’s Soccer Program

    Scranton, PA - Lackawanna College is honored to announce that it has hired Samantha Patterson as their Head Women’s Soccer Coach for the 2017 season. No stranger to the Lackawanna women’s soccer program, she served as a starting center back on the 2010 and 2011 Lackawanna soccer teams, while captaining the 2011 squad. Both of those teams were the last two squads to qualify for the Region XIX Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament. Patterson will replace Errol Mannick, who stepped down from the head coaching position for certain business opportunities.
