Duda named GridironRR.com “Coach of the Year”

Scranton, PA – Tuesday, GridironRR.com named Lackawanna College's Football Coach, Mark Duda, its "2018 Head Coach of the Year"

GridironRR.com was founded with the goal of helping Under Recruited and Underrated JUCO & High School Prospects find football scholarships to further their academic and athletic careers.

This award was the second "Coach of the Year" honor received by Duda this year. Earlier this month, he received the same recognition by vote of his opponents in the Northeast Football Conference.

This is the third consecutive year that Coach Duda has been recognized. In 2018, he was inducted into the NJCAA Football Hall of Fame, while in 2017 he was presented the American Football Network "JUCO Coach of the Year".

A seven-time Northeast Football Conference Coach of the Year, Duda is currently the active leader in career wins in the NJCAA. Duda's reign for the Falcons began in 1993, the same year as the inception of the program. After one year as a defensive coordinator, Duda took over as the head coach and subsequently amassed 176 wins and a career winning percentage of .698.

The Falcons have reached unprecedented success under Duda, reaching 11 bowl games while boasting five undefeated seasons. Over 370 student-athletes have received scholarships to the NCAA Division I level while 16 have gone on to play in the NFL.

Duda has also been enshrined on the University of Maryland Wall of Fame and the Pennsylvania Sport Hall of Fame. A stellar playing career at Maryland where he still holds the school's record for sacks in a season, he continued his football career by playing in 55 NFL career games for the St. Louis Cardinals
