Lackawanna Baseball and Softball deal with the Effects of Winter Storm Stella

The Lackawanna College baseball and softball teams are starting to rebound from the effects of Winter Storm Stella. Both teams have canceled games, rescheduled others, added some and prepared to return to the field for scheduled games this weekend.

Baseball has canceled outright its games against CCBC Catonsville, Dutchess Community College and Messiah College, JV. They have moved a home doubleheader against Lehigh Carbon Community College to Monday, April 17th and a 9 inning game against Luzerne County Community College to Tuesday, May 2nd. It also moved its away doubleheader against Queensborough Community College to Friday, March 24th. Finally, Lackawanna added a doubleheader against Suffolk Community College on Saturday, March 25th.

Softball has postponed its games against Cumberland Community College and Sussex County Community College with no rescheduled dates announced. They have moved their twin bills against Brookdale Community College to March 31st and with Rowan College at Gloucester County to April 1st. This weekend's game against Delaware Technical Community College will be played on Saturday, March 25th.

Stella and its aftermath had a different effect on the NJCAA rankings for each team. The baseball team moved up from 16th place to 13th place in their poll, while the softball team dropped from 18th to 19th in the NJCAA Softball Top 20.
